What areas do you cover?

From our base in Stafford, we cover Staffordshire as well as Stoke on Trent and the surrounding areas. If you would like to know whether we cover your area, please get in touch.

Will we be expected to pay VAT?

Currently, GigaVolt is not VAT registered, so you won't see any VAT added to your invoice.

What are your hours? What is your expected work schedule?
Our standard work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. If your project requires work beyond these hours, we'll address it during the consultation. Emergency call-outs are available outside of these times.
What's involved in rewiring my house?

Rewiring your home can feel overwhelming, but we're here to guide you through every step. Whether you choose to stay during the work or temporarily move out, we’ll make arrangements that fit your needs. While the process might be messy initially, the final outcome will be well worth it.

Are you insured?
We have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance, which fully covers all the work we perform.

Do you provide a quote before you start work?

Absolutely! After we've had a chance to discuss your project and explore the available options together, we'll provide you with a detailed scope of work and a clear, comprehensive quotation.

What kind of Training and Experience Do You Have?

I have completed a modern apprenticeship in electrotechnical installation, earning an NVQ Level 3. I am also qualified in the latest edition of the IET Wiring Regulations and hold the City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.

With over 15 years of experience, I have worked on a diverse range of electrical installations, including residential homes, agricultural buildings, commercial properties, and industrial warehouses and factories.

Will any subcontractors be performing the work?

Most of our projects are completed directly by us. For larger projects, we may bring in carefully selected subcontractors. Regardless, we'll always be available to answer any questions you may have throughout the process.

What projects are you most familiar with?

Most of my career has been spent working as an installation electrician in commercial and industrial settings. However, I also have experience with residential electrical installations, especially in luxury homes. For more details, please visit the 'About Us' page.

What type of guarantee or warranty do you offer?

We provide a 12-month guarantee on all our work. Please note that this does not extend to fixtures or fittings supplied by the client, such as decorative light fittings.

Are permits or inspections needed?

Depending on the work to be undertaken and the age of the property it may be necessary for an asbestos survey to be carried out before work commences.

How much do you charge?

We’ll provide you with a personalized quotation once we’ve agreed on the scope of work for your project.

Will you discuss prices with me before assessing the work in person? Do you offer estimates?

Since every project is unique, we don't offer estimates. Instead, we're happy to chat with you about your project and provide a detailed quotation. This usually involves a visit to assess the site and the work needed, ensuring you get the most accurate and fair pricing.

How do you plan to manage alterations to the project?

If changes are required after the scope of works and quotation have been accepted, we will do our best to accommodate them. However, additional charges will apply. These costs will be detailed in writing and must be approved before we proceed with the alterations.

Can you help me save electrical energy??

Often, there are ways to reduce electrical energy consumption. Feel free to reach out, and we’ll work with you to find the best solutions.

Do you offer PAT testing?

At this time, we don't offer PAT testing services. If you need assistance with this, we’d be happy to help you find a reliable provider.
